Cummins isx 15 cuts out power at 1500rpm

    I have my 13 KW T660 with isx15 450hp and it cuts out power at 1500rpm. Diesnt matter if I'm going uphill/downhill loaded/empty. It doesn't accelerate fast either. It takes a bit if time for rpm to go up to 1500rpm. Its almost like its derated but there's no codes. I notice it happens in low gears, high gears I can get it to go past 1500rpm but engine seems to struggle still.

    Could be many things. Fuel filters been changed lately? Mayby a dose of dirty fuel? Air filter(s)? Thats the easy stuff.

    Optional ECM settings like load based speed control, gear down protection, etc. The ISX I had was a former fleet truck with all the babysitting settings in the ECM. Once I had all that stuff changed, it became a completely different animal.

    Can a Kenworth dealer get rid of all the safety parameters on a former fleet truck or does it have to be done by Cummins?

    A KW dealer should be able to. I had the carrier I leased on to at the time do it.

    That would be my guess. One of my O/O’s got a CM2250 that had been on a fleet. His 450 was down rated to 400/1750 with all the lame accountant specified progressive shifting torque limiting bs enabled.
