CDL, trucking schools and from out of state?

depends on each company..


you sign up for training, they "give you" an address of thier place.(you will live there as well)

you get the training, then you pass the DMV road testing there.

then you go home, and change it over to your state.

some others, you get the permit at YOUR home state, go to school with them, then take the road test in YOUR state.

you would have to travel to Avon MA for Parker truck school, or to RI for NETTTS, then do this every day for x amount of weeks. NETTTS also has a school in North Andover, MA

personally, even though it can be a PITA to travel back and for to a local school, if you can get finacial aid, then do it. this way, you will not beholding to any company. in your situation, i would imagine either school down south of you will make all the arrangements for testing at the DMV up there.

fore-note, get this done before winter, you do not want that LOONG commute during the winter.

i really did not know there were any CDL schools up there.

yeah, pay your own way, this way, you don't sign any "contracts" for training with a company and have to honor that contract. (well we should all honor contracts), but the difference here is if a better payng job comes along, you have to pay off that contract, then leave, or get hit with a bad credit report.

that can hurt you down the proverbieal road.
