To fast and not paying attention. Quick slow downs, and abrupt stops can catch a driver off guard. Been there done that, as has anyone that drives. Fortunately never hit..but a mighty hard stop. Whew!

Bud A., mjd4277, lovesthedrive and 2 others Thank this.

This driver was 59 and the other was 57, maybe they’re too old to be driving

Over 20 yrs otr I can count the times I locked my brakes on one hand. Most if not all occasions were the other vehicles fault.
For instance on US 301on MDs eastern shore an EXplorer was pulling a
set of "doubles" :eek:o_Othe Explorer towing travel trailer towing a boat (is that
even legal?) He started across the nb lanes then saw 2 18s sb so he stopped in the crossover with the boat still in the nb granny lane. I stood on the brakes & hit the horn, I got his attention so he pulled up enough to get the boat in the hammer lane, there were no vehicles in the hammer lane. The 2 sb 18s hit their horns also. I hope he learned a lesson, probably not:mad:

Willing to bet the following items will come up in the ensuing investigation:
    1. Driving record has numerous infections/ violations of all types.
    2. Works for a company with a similar bad record.

The authorities know exactly who these people and companies are. Just like the scandal in Massachusetts where the 26 year old killed 7 motorcyclists. Head of DMV forced to resign, over 1200 drivers have had their license revoked in the last month, and counting.

stillwurkin, Bud A., mjd4277 and 3 others Thank this.
