    I get that, but what do most people with a 9-5 do with 16 hours off? I honestly dont know anybody with only a 9-5, the ones who dont drive truck work 7-6s or later.

    FFE Chicago Ternimal, I was told to set that 18 wheeler right there flip parking lights on and go to bed. Nothing going to happen before noon next day. (It's midnight) so I get nested.

    next morning. BANG BANG BANG you awake yet you *&^% your logs say you need moving right now.

    I snarled at him where is my coffee and smokes?

    One must wonder why I don't do any more work out of Chicago. They tracked my truck to the minute and there it was wake up time 30 feet from the dispatch office door. hA...

    5 more were with me sleeping as well. Sheesh. Lesson learned.

    The average employee in Revelstoke, the town I am in, work 7 to 8 hours per day, 4 or 5 days a week. My wife works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, from 8:00 am till 2 pm, with a break from 10:30 till 11:00. My office manager, and book keeper work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am till 4:30 pm, with a break from 12: till 1:00. My drivers are 4 days on and 4 days off...although if they wish to work more in the busy season like now, i can give them extra work. They like the 4 on and 4 off, enough time off to go do something.

    Hit the nail on the head, can’t believe people still don’t get it. Small minds out here.

    Guess I’m the only one that once in a blue moon takes some of those nighttime gummies to catch a real deep sleep. The issue is you need to have atleast 10-11 hours of downtime. Ya’ll should try it when you have a load with a lot of time you feel like a new man after that long sleep with very vivid dreams lol.

    the key point : it is more flexible for everyone.

    no matter one needs 6 or 10 hours off, he can only drive 11 hours in 24 hours.

    if A sleep 6 hours, then drive, A still has 4 hours off(rest or sleep or ...)
    I usually sleep 6 hours, feel fresh, drive 7-8 hours *, sleep 2-3 hours/ feel fresh, drive 6-7* hours again
    * means including rest time

    a lot of people. I can get by on 5hrs a night, done it for years. On the weekend i can pass out for a good 12hrs.

    that was my favorite saying thru out my 20’s and early 30’s. Now I work hard enough to have that attitude anymore.

    I get the comments about running hard, that used to be me. Now i work for more money not more work. Driver pay is up right? Company drivers should work for a company that pays well enough they don’t need to work so hard. O/O’s should find work paying well enough to not have to risk working that hard. As an o/o it is a risk, when the accident happens you’re gonna be held liable.

    That's what the Walmart driver thought. You can see how that way of thinking worked out. Remember he killed a person almost two.
