The company/carrier that does the McDonald's here in SC is terrible from what my coworker told me. He was home daily but they work all seven days of the week. Their days off varied from one week to another and they were never consecutive.

As an aside, rail traffic is dropping, which is usually a sign of economic health 9 months ahead. There are some other odd reasons for the change right now, but in general they haul raw materials for finished products which means industrial orders are down.

I have not done it, but food seems to be the safest bet during recessions.

You aren't wrong. It's nerve wracking. My company didn't have a layoff since '08, but one seems to be looming and I am way at the bottom of the seniority board to have a safety net.

In N Out is looking for a driver in PHX. I see their sets running around, nice hood cabs and short reefer trailers with gates. 2 years exp or I'd be trying. And they think the Smith System is actually something more than Captain Obvious' sales pitch.

ABF is going with driver facing cameras. Many drivers are opposed to having driver facing cameras. At one time City drivers drove the road trucks during the day and the road drivers were held until the city was done with the road trucks.

They installed now? Be interesting to see what happens to their driver rosters.

Some Holland trucks have a dual camera system setup. The inward facing camera has a plastic cap over the lense with a sticker stating that it has been disabled. Curious how many people would give up their seniority and their earned 4 weeks of vacation if those cameras were to be turned back on.

The driver facing camera currently has tape over it. They are in the process of putting the cameras in all trucks. When they have the cameras in all trucks they are telling the drivers that the tape will come off.

Is that for Holland? Almost none of our city trucks have them and only a handful of road trucks have the dual camera (inward facing disabled).
