I was at a dollar general dc and a driver tried to whip around in the row. His overhang caught one trailer and pushed it sideways, collapsing the landing gear. It dominoed into 3 or 4 other trailers.

It's like specing 34,000 lb rears. I wouldn't be surprised if the landing gear was 30,000 or something. Just barely enough.

It was several years (and phones) ago. I also doubt I took pictures as I was focused on getting dropped and gone. Plus I tend to forget I have a camera on my phone.

If you search thru my posts circa 2013-14 I might have mentioned it.

Can a guy even get 34000 or even 38000 pound rears any more?

Well, I got the skinny on what happened..

First, it was a independent O/O..

As the driver was leaving the dock area his trailer broke loose and hit the loaded trailer on the right and took out both trailers.

Although Food Lion was able to save the product, the trailers were declared totaled.. I guess if they’re really old there wasn’t much value to them..

Food lion makes you disconnect and pull forward a little at their docks.. Driver didn’t reconnect properly.. Another reason I’ll never dismiss visually checking the connection.
