I'll concur with other posters on its probably better to find a new place. It's hard to find that one driving job where you are actually treated as an asset. But boy, once you do you'll hate to have to leave them down the road for better pay. Which is where I'm at now. I absolutely love where I'm at now, but need better finances so I'm making my way to move on.

A company gets the kind of drivers they want. They also, usually, get the kind of drivers they deserve.
Now that you're gone you can spread the word and keep other drivers from making the same mistake.

I just quit a jet fuel job after 2 weeks because they wouldn't change my afternoon load, even after my explaining that the day prior I ran out of hours on the way back to the yard after running the exact same dispatch.
Local job, daycab, no hotel stays. Dispatcher tells me "Just run out of hours and if something should happen, I will vouch for you"... WTF?! I quit on the spot.

You must have known my dispatcher when you say bribes. Because he was sure good at taking those and anything else those older suckup's would do for him to get the runs they wanted!!!

Do you really want to list a company as a bad company on a drivers say so?
A bad dispatcher to one driver may be considered a god one to others and vica versa.
I am not saying the OP doesn't have a legitimate complaint, but I would have a hard knowing drivers for close to a half century, I would never condemn any company on just a drivers say so especially over the internet.

Speak up to him. I had one like that.
I just had a civil conversation with him, no yelling or screaming. Pointed out the fact that I only got crummy loads from him. Said I didn't mind doing my fair share, but through me a bone once in a while.
Actually got along pretty good after that.
He was just taking the path of least resistance before.

My boss saves the best loads for the guy who whines up a storm if he doesnt get the ones he wants.

Whenever it comes up between the boss /owner and i... I just say thats fine. Let the whiner take the good one. Youll be stuck with him long after im gone so no sense rocking the boat. Ill take the crap haul.

Boss usually kisses my butt a while when i mention leaving.

Does a guy ever complain when he is the driver that got his choice of loads??
A few years ago when I was hauling hot oil there was three of us in the company I was leased to, and we pulled 90% of what the put on outside trucks. We had a job up he goat trail to chicken that I had looked forward to for two years, but when the time came, and the guy I was leased to told me what it was paying, I told him I was not interested, I got my dispatch from the company dispatcher anyway, which my boss had a problem with sometimes, but I didn't care. I finished the job Iwas on just in time for this one to start, and the dispatcher told me I could be the first load on It, I told him I would, but didn't want to, he knew I had been looking forward to it, so ask why. I told him so he, said I get first pick ( even from his company drivers) so I picked the gravy deal my boss was on. lol He told me later he still could not figure out how come they pulled himoff that good money gravy deal. lol

That’s everywhere unfortunately. The better companies are the ones who don’t tolerate it.

“I was told to watch the dispatcher that he was very unethical...”
You were poisoned by negative talk.

    “he had his favorites...”
That’s fine. He’s entitled to that. I’m not here for a popularity contest.

“if you were not in that inner circle, you were always left with the bottom of the pile runs, the short runs and the low paying runs.”
Did you make the money you wanted to make? Regardless of what anyone else was doing or making or whatever, did you make the money that you wanted to make? If not, I’d quit. I’m not looking for gravy, I am looking for work. I wouldn’t be loyal. I wouldn’t help him out if he were in a bind. No favors.

“he would cut you out of good paying loads that you deserve...”
You must have been on percentage, because if it were mileage, there would be no good paying loads. Would there? If I couldn’t make what I wanted to make on the loads available to me, I wouldn’t work there. Period.
