It also depends on who it is, how reputable.
Two years ago, JB Hunt was shown by DAT as in 50s too, if I remember correctly. Yet, they always paid as promised - I signed up for Quick Pay with them just in case. Why they went so low, I've no clue. Maybe DAT scoring system has some flaws. For a unknown broker, I'd rather not deal with.

Call baxter bailey and alexander winton to see if theyre on the collections list.
Or If you have a non recourse factor just see if theyll buy the invoice. Let them take the risk.PE_T Thanks this. -
If there score is that low it’s for a reason. There are like a gazillion other loads on DAT. Go with a more reputable company. Who cares how long they’ve been in business if the score is 55. Just my 2 cents.

I have noticed a drop in various brokers credit ratings a couple weeks back on DAT. Some larger, more established brokerages (in my opinion) had a brief, yet significant drop in credit score and DTP. When asking a broker about this that experienced this, they mentioned DAT is getting their figures from a new credit company. I forget who the old and new companies are, but they mentioned it was a causing some issues. On DAT they are now back up to normal levels (credit score in the 90's and DTP in the 30's).
