2007 Volvo vnl 670 w/D16. Lost blower function in the cab. Diagnostics is showering stepper motor electrical fault on all 4 phase and a 5v supply electrical fault. When idling there is no air and when driving it blows gently. Any idea if it would be the switch or the blower?

Run a set of jumper wires to the blower motor and see if it spins at full speed, if it does the switch is the problem.

You can plug in a new blower control module to test. If that doesn't work it is probably the blower motor itself.
Takes about 45 mins to fix

A new control module is around $400, that’s an expensive “test” if that isn’t it. Just thought maybe someone had had this happen before and would have a heads up

Mine was doing the same thing, so I went for the low hangin' fruit and replaced the blower and module at the same time seein' as I had everything apart. Blower was 160 bucks I think and the module was 65. Works fine now.

    KB3MMX Thanks this.
