1) You shouldn't need to do this if you stick the tanks or get a veder root. But stuff happens.
2) Close internal
3) Close off loading valve
4) Put the bucket that should already be there in place
5) get a good hold of hose
6) Undo one hose cam
7) Carefully partially undo the other cam
8) "Burp" the hose by letting in some air. This will allow you to drain the hose
9) If there is a LITTLE more in the tank than close the cams, fill the hose and then repeat.
10) Next time don't drop if there is no room.
Things to remember
Keep an eye out for Air Resource Board
If anything spills it was only a cup or two.....it spreads.superpet39 Thanks this. -
I wanted to add that you can't get into tankers without 2 years of resent driving experience with no incidents. That is what all the adds say.
Unless of course they need a driver right this minute.
I had just over a year of driving doing dirt hauling locally. No other experience. And I was fat, really fat. there is no reason they should have hired me other than they needed someone at that point.
I had over 7 years in with no contams, or wrong station deliverers. I jumped from truck-trailer to semi and back. I made my company money with little to no hassle from me. A car side swiped me and put me out of the industry for awhile. Trying to get back in now.
Find a company that will take a chance on you. They are out there.superpet39 Thanks this. -
Schneider Bulk
Service Transport
McKenzie Tank Lines used to but since Groendyke bought them, I don't know if this is still the case.
Superior Carriers/Carry Transport hires from approved schools.
I'm reasonably certain @Chinatown can add to this list.superpet39, MartinFromBC and REO6205 Thank this. -
That is what I meant by "Unless of course they need a driver right this minute." So no matter what the ad says apply anyways, you never know you might get the job.
I fully acknowledge that I was one of the worst candidates they probably ever had. But if you try many will give you a shot.
There is another thing to add. Don't cut corners in your routine to save time. I went from 45 min offloads down to 25 min offloads without short cutting safety. Speed will come with experience and if you do it right than you don't need to explain anything to the boss.Good lucksuperpet39 Thanks this. -
Scott 180 is talking about hauling gasoline I believe. I know the companies that was listed is talking tankers and not just gasoline.
