Conflicting information about Swift driving academy

The Schneider training is good.

 

I wouldn't worry about the bill from Swift.
If they want their money they'll contact you, then you can deal with it.
You may never hear anything. This is one of those, "Don't call us; we'll call you", situations.

 

In my opinion, this is the most important part of everything you said You will get more training and will get paid! It may not pay much, but it is definitely better than no job! Best of luck to you in your endeavor

 

What's this "verify employment" (after the fact) thing with Swift/Knight all about???

Is this corporate doublespeak for "we heard you got fired / pissed people off / were very very naughty at your old job"?Or did they literally pass on you because you were (or they thought you were) unemployed for some period of time before getting into the trucking game?

Or do you really think that's all pure HR BS and they just sacked you because you raised a bit of a "but this isn't what I signed up for" fuss?????

I was leaning towards getting a CDL through one of them, but if that's how they roll that's pretty disconcerting... do tell if you find out whether or not they go after you for that money!

Oh and how long did it take you to get signed on with the other gig after Swift/Knight did that? Also, does your new employer have some "tuition reembursement" scheme, and if it does, could you maybe make THEM pay Swift/Knight off if it comes to that?
