Lone Mountain has some 2015 International's with Cummins ISX and Eaton autoshift. They even have APU's. They had some 2016's with APU and fridge but it looks like they sold out.
I wanna buy my first truck and I’m staying on Cascadia which engine and transmission should I buy?

Half of his trucks are long hood Petes and KWs and he told me my best bet would be a Cascadia with a DD15 because it's a reliable workhorse, gets way better mileage than most of what he has, anyone can work on the Detroit and parts are everywhere. Detroit vs Cummins...He said Detroit.
I've been looking at used Prime trucks at Pedigree Truck Sales in Springfield MO because in part I want an APU and they all have them.
I'm thinking the truck that was born with an APU shouldn't have much idle time on the motor.
The used Prime trucks 2016 and older have Eaton 10 speeds the 2017's have the Detroit DT12 Auto.
I'm looking at the 2017's with the autoshift primarily because I figure between the slow governed truck and an auto how bad could rookie Prime driver possibly have 'tore up' the drivetrain.Last edited: Aug 1, 2019
USCargo, Dave_in_AZ and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
You have two good choices.
One from Freightliner or one from Penske.
IF you can afford the one of your choice, get a DD15. Get a 10 speed manual.
Do not get anything that has not had an APU from birth.
Both places will have all the maintenance records.USCargo Thanks this. -
If you want I'll sell you my beloved Casper pretty reasonable if you have the coin.

Detroit is availaqble in a freightshaker, and from what I have been seeing is the obvious choice. I would NOT get an auto, unless you are handicapped and need it. Everything wears out eventually and even a brand new 18 spd is cheaper to replace.
