hey there! I ran a MVR for a driver that had a violation at some point, it appears he neglected to show up or pay the fine a couple different times, from one state it says Failure to Answer Citation, Pay Fines, Penalties. In another state it says Failure to Appear for Trial or Court Appearance. That same state again says Failure to Make Required Payment of Fines and Cost. This at some point resulted in a suspension of License and has since been restored but show it on MVR, anyone know how much these affect insurability of a driver?

I think they would be more interested in what the citations he didn't appear on were for.

May wish to inform said driver that there are probably a few warrants out for his arrest.

    Proxy and truckdriver31 Thank this.

I would say a hell of a lot. My insurance people would have said to put that guy on a never hire list and keep him there.

Is this Virginia? The DMV was sued that they can no longer suspend driver's licenses for un-paid court fines

the citations were from OH, and NY. Appears to possibly have been two separate and ignored violations and eventually CDL was suspended till he paid his fines in his home state (CT). However I am not sure if that means he has satisfied all of the others as well. I'm sure the Clearinghouse will be stopping that from happening in the future

Your license is your career. If a guy doesn’t care enough about that, how can i trust him to care about my investment and the freight.

Again the ability to make a good decision comes into question. Some people can talk a good game & screw you over hard on the back side.

All that said Op, i would file this drivers application in the garbage can & call it a day.

    I agree with the others.
    Pass on this applicant.
If he doesn't care enough about his CDL to process payments and paperwork to keep it valid.

He probably won't care enough about the paperwork to keep your company compliant. Ifta routes, miles fuel records. BOL's.

    Good luck.
