I mean, how the #### do you even manage to do that?

 

Sam’s in Taylor PA. Last time they sent me here was to pick up an mt “with a hole in the roof” and take it to a repair shop. Turned out it had obviously had a bad encounter with the 11’3” overpass coming in here. This time I pick up a Tcalled load bring it 79 miles and wait all day for a 20:30 appointment. Got turned away because the PO # wasn’t printed on the bills and they wouldn’t accept it being hand written. Nearly 3 hours since I contacted dispatch and still no solution.

 

I would start asking for detention.

 

Yeah that’s what dispatch said when they admitted nothing would happen until morning. Sent a snarky message when my asset manager came in and he said they were working on it. Sent a few more during the morning. Eventually I sent one to my terminal asking about changing asset managers. Terminal calls, says customer service said they had been “working on it since last night”. At noon I send a message “going to Petro”. Do it, take a shower and eat then send a message asking if my peoplenet is even working anymore. 13:55 Reply is go back to Sam’s tell the guard to let receiving see the bills then let us know what happens. Get back to guard, she calls receiving then tossed the bill out the window smiles and says “sorry buddy you missed your appointment and it has to be rescheduled”. Message dispatch, either you find a place to Tcall or I do, I’m done with Sam’s and I’m done with Crete. End up taking it back to Macungie and am currently at home trying to figure out where to go from here. But I do know one thing, Eff Sam’s, dispatch and your stinking detention.

 

This kind of crap right here is the kind of thing I dont like about trucking. You are the one that is hung out to dry while and tossed like garbage while everyone else goes home for the day, and night..I certainly feel you on this. You might need a break. I am a bit disgruntled with trucking myself right now and left it last week because of this stuff right here. I will get back to it eventually, just nice for now not being held hostage in the truck..I can actually get in my car and drive anywhere I want!

There are plenty of options for local driving that allow you to be home every night.

 

I will go back OTR in a few months. I am retired and get a fair pension so that's the only reason why I can get a break. I feel for the drivers that cant..its a tough job at times
