I’m 28 yrs old and a driver with 3 years of experience now working locally with dump trucks... I’m getting tired of all the off time during the winter (TOO MUCH)

I’m thinking of moving on to a hazmat local gig.. is 3 years exp good enough to find a solid haz job?

Any suggestions where and how to start looking?

I’m in Nor Cals 209 valley

New to the forums looking to network for help and help others with how I can :) thanks

    Lepton1 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

There's no reason why you couldn't find a tanker gig with three years in. Are you looking for local work (fuel hauler) or something regional?

I’m looking for a local gig with daylight hours morning shift. Is that realistic for expectations? Turned down a few haz gigs for them being graveyard I’m unable to do those shifts. Haven’t crossed a morning shift opportunity yet

You just posted day shift only; that narrows it down a lot.

####, it has to be rough trying to be a trucker in California.

12 hours a day for sub 1000 a week +Saturdays while probably trying to pay for a 500k house in the middle of the desert, surrounded by illegal aliens and nutcases. While everything around you is on fire!

My only question is why does the above job require being able to write read and speak English? They don't even require that of their elected officials.

Probably so the company doesn't have to pay to use E-Verify.
Protecting the company from liability by using legal workers.

I drive for Messer, started in March and fully recommend it. Cleanest hazmat out there. Great pay, easy work. Check out the cryogenics threads
