P Magnum did one run from Phoenix AZ to Hurricane UT for Jack Travis and was fired when he returned with a completely destroyed load of Pepsi product. As you can see from the attached picture, not only did his reckless driving (85 plus mph) result in the entire load being dumped but he received an 83 mph speeding ticket.

Pepsi charged me over $3000 for his effort.... Funny, as a perpetually unemployed driver I still receive inquires on a regular basis for his new potential victims... I.E employers.

And steal from peter to pay paul? Jack Travis is growing steady and just purchased a 5 acre $1.3 million dollar lot. I guess peter and paul are both doing just fine.

Richard seems like a nice guy, I was just really shocked he would throw a new hire into a situation like he did with me. I just have the opinion that his expectations in my scenario weren't reasonable, especially when I told him i had been up since 4am and I was stretching my 14 out when I decided to shut down.

It looks like Shane has his facts mixed up.

Shane started our interaction by telling me he wanted/needed to drive 3000 to 4000 miles. And then... I realized after his first trip he meant 3000-4000/month not per week.

His first load was from Phoenix to SLC and back (685 miles each way) and on his third day he informed me he would need a forth day to make if back. I told him he was hired to drive the truck not sleep in it and he could turn in his keys when he returned.

Day 1. He started at 0600 with a loaded trailer from the yard. He drove a total of 9 hrs 23 minutes out of 12 hours 30 minutes. I.E. he took 3 hours worth of breaks and stopped driving with 1 hour and 37 minutes left to drive because he had sand in his panties... I think that was his excuse.

Day 2... the wittleboy in the corner must have been sleepy.... need a blanky and pillow?
Shane drove a whopping 288.3 miles in 4 hours 45 minutes while working all the way until 1430. Of course he was in the sleeper for about 2 hours to unload and load... He refused to drive even a little ways back so he could turn a normal 2 1/2 day trip into only 3 days...

Day 3... after being off duty from 1430 to a little after 0815 (almost 18 hours), wittle Shane informed me he hoped to get all the way to Las Vegas. That's right, he was going to drive all 400 miles in one day! Now that's wearing your big boy pants. I told him I was only keeping truck drivers and not truck stops.

His mommy must have found him some spinach. He proceeded to drive all 11 hours and make it to Wickenburg, just 60 miles short of Phoenix. Imagine if he had done that on day 1 or 2. In hindsight and reviewing it now, Shane was right about one thing, he was shorted the miles he drove off the books and illegal later that night. Although this wasn't intentional as our payroll person pays for all miles posted on our e-log system. And although the shipper pads the travel time, Shane did manage to make sure he arrived after the delivery appointment.

Now seriously!!! Do you really expect anyone to believe you found a $2000/week job where you're home every night? Next you will want them to believe you are a truck driver.

Question # 1. Was the trailer PRELOADED and SEALED?
Question # 2. Was it noted as such on the BOL?
Question # 3. If the answer to both questions is “no” did the driver make an effort to secure the load(load locks/straps,etc?).
Question # 4. If the answer to both questions one and two is “yes” did the shipper secure the load?

And Shane, if you'd like I can post your e-log printouts to prove which one of us values his integrity... and which one lies his ### off. I suggest you go badmouth someone else or I'll send your violation to DOT.

He picked up this load and had straps and load bars but failed to put them on. He was instructed to do so and was even told that the loads out of Phoenix Pepsi are shrink wrapped thin... to drive slow. When he arrived in Hurricane Utah (425 miles) there were only a few spilled cases but he refused to pick them up. Then like a idiot and I guess, hell bent on proving it... he drove like a maniac all the way back. All 26 pallets were spilled from front to back and it took a roll off and 3 days to clean the trailer.

Quite honestly in my opinion if you want to be taken seriously you probably shouldn't be using terms like wittle boy , wittle Shane and blanky and pillow. It takes away from the facts when I'm reading and thinking wow this guy owns a company?

I never said that, EVER. I quoted you dollar amounts.

I never stated that either. It was a forgone conclusion that it would be necessary to take another 10 hours off due to the distance and the legal drive time required to cover the distance. You were combative about how it was costing you money.

so youre denying you stated you would try me out on a few more runs, that you terminated me and that I didnt quit? Then why didnt I receive my paycheck within 7 working days under AZ law instead of waiting 10 or 11? Jessica even stated Id have to wait until the next pay day.

you may have said this wise crack to yourself but you didnt say this to me.

Loaded trailer on day 1? You sent me with an empty trailer to International paper to pick up a load destined for Prewitt NM and because there was no return load to Phoenix you changed my dispatch to SLC and I brought said load back to your yard to pick up the load destined to Costco SLC.

3 hours worth of breaks? That is rich. I may have started my 14 at 0600 but it was my 1st day and wanted to give myself extra time to become familiar with your elogs, your equipment and the shipper of the load you assigned me. So i got up at 0400 to be at your yard at 0500, Its called being proactive. You also failed to mention that this 1:37 minutes of drive time remaining was also the same amount left on my 14 hour time clock.

i was being loaded from 2100 til 2330 the previous night, finally going to sleep at midnight, having no legal time to drive afterward. Just how much sleep should one expect to get? You asked how far do I expect to get and my reply was exactly “at least to Kingman or Wikieup.” Las Vegas never came out of my mouth.

Im not sure what you're implying but I was early to the Costco delivery appointment. Well before 11 am. Im sure my elogs would prove that as well as the thermal label costco provides crediting me with on time arrival.

I showed Jessica the starting and ending odometer. You didn't even pay the 30 minutes detention time on the salt load.

you failed to mention on day 2 there was a delivery at 11am and a pick up at 9pm. of course i only drove that far on day 2, it was 238 miles from Parowan UT to Costco DC in SLC and 32 miles from there to Morton Salt in Grantsville. Was i supposed to drive in a perpetual loop to rack up miles? I got to Morton at 1430 and had to wait til 2100 to get loaded, I had no legal drive time remaining to “drive even a little ways back”.

I actually requested you to make a legal edit of my logs so I could split the sleeper berth. But you didn't make this correction until the next morning or the system didn't update to reflect the edit. So driving back “even a little ways” couldn't be accomplished.

I can assure you I do. Id disclose the details of who I work for but I don't need you being vindictive and cause me any trouble with my present employer.

What I find most amusing is the wise cracks and insults you felt necessary to use. Its very indicative of your character.

I have 20 years accident free ticket free driving. I would have ZERO issue getting a job anywhere, including going back to haul crude in Texas for $10k a month.

Someone you know or someone who works with/for you brought this thread to your attention. For someone who says they are as busy as they say they are I doubt you were trolling the web looking for feedback on you or your company.
