you take your RATE - no one is going to pay your TOLL rates - they are built in and you
try and get a rate - taking tolls into consideration - Brokers are paying what they are paying !

I haven’t been to Cali in years and don’t plan to. What authority does carb have to enforce the fine on out of state carriers?

I have no idea what authority they have other than what the legal system allows them to have. California has always had many strange laws and regulations that they can and do enforce particularly with air quality, so I imagine this one won't be any different. I've lived here over 40 years, and auto manufacturers have always made cars especially for us that have different smog equipment on them. If you bought a car out of state, you had to have the equipment added and certified.

Rates are down but just like in the past it will Improve. Gotta did down deep, run hard, and wehther the storm untill things Improve, and Improve they will. For some, they may have to park the truck, go work for the mega for awhile.

I didn’t dig too deep, but looks like they get the epa to collect fines.

One issue with regards to rates. I just left combo and am driving 6 axle dump now, but last month I pulled a load the broker paid $650 on; said he "couldn't go higher, that's almost everything I have in it."

The BOL had $1,050 for the rate on it.

We need to stop hauling cheap freight, and force the brokers to pay more. If we come together as drivers, collectively, we can force changes in the industry.

I understand a broker takes a cut, but a third of the rate?? That's pure greed. 10% of the lineup should be the max.

    Just my opinion

Edit: forgot to mention. Asked about it, he played dumb

Wanting to limit someone’s profit isn’t really a great road to go down.

As I said, I understand they're wanting to make money, but at our expense?

I hear this phrase like 50 times per day, everyday. For me 5his phrase became the same as "Hello, how are you?"
