They should be heated enough during canning to kill anything bad inside. they are fine until you open them. Once they are opened then anything can get inside, stuff floating in the air or from a "clean" utensil.

If the top is bulging out then it's bad for sure.

You can buy those jam/jellies (and other condiments) that some of the fast food restaurants hand out in the individual packets from Sam's Club.

There are 2 words on those containers that would make me question eating them freshly opened..."great value".

THIS stuff is the good shtuff and you can get it at Wally World, too. Best of all, unlike what you have, it's all natural with only 4 ingredients 15654710989532181699813602380408.jpg

No, not water! Put the honey in some hot water or leave it in the sun. Certainly do not mix it with water. That probably compromises the taste.

Not that they’re the same, but this is what Smuckers says about their products:

“Do I need to refrigerate your jams, jellies, preserves and fruit spreads?”

“We recommend refrigerating our fruit spreads, jams, jellies and preserves after opening, per the instructions on the back label of our products.”

“For maximum freshness and flavor, we do not recommend using opened products if they have been without refrigeration for more than 48 hours”

    FAQ - Smucker’s

As others have said, peanut butter, honey, or Nutella do not require refrigeration, but you still need to close the jars.

I've never put PB in a fridge. No risk no rewards, lol.

That Korean bean stuff is put in the sun for years.
