I did not know better. Buffalo. Bison.

There is a large protectorate with a few thousand of them in east SD I believe.

And a number of them else where. Not very many but they are working on it.

No offense to Sturgis, I actually salute them raising my hat... but I faced a horrible winter storm not far from there westbound. That was quite enough for me.

Sturgis this week is the reason I'd stay on 90.
I wouldn't want to miss out on all of that eye candy. :)

Yeah same here. It’s also fun seeing one of the big outlaw clubs go rolling by in formation like a pack of P-51 Mustangs with the flashy bikes and vests.

Upinsmoke and Bean Jr. Thank this.

I like the northern route better. 80 seemed better for fuel, even the rolling hills Iowa stuff seemed to trump the wind up there.

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.

Ole Roger still working at the eastbound Sturgis scales,?he was a good guy, he understood what drivers go thru, and if you were inspected by him,he'd treat you well. He more or less just wanted to go outside and have a smoke ...and take a quick peak at your truck, and as long as you weren't an ###, things went good.

Upinsmoke, Truckermania and x1Heavy Thank this.
