You could also run up 411 from 75 just north of Cartersville. It turns in to 129 and then straight to Knoxville, take 275 through the middle of Knoxville and then 75 North.
411 takes just as long as 75 through Chattanooga. I do it all the time to avoid Chattanooga traffic and that scale.

in 35 yrs driving 48 state OTR ,I never made a habit of avoiding scales and had 1 horror story, (I-80 scale near Donner Pass,CA),.
never drove for a mega either.Coffey and Truckermania Thank this. -
The ones who got me were worse than that. Soo much worse. Dont stop between port jervis and danbury. Particularly at the text stop rest stops, exits 3/4/5/6 iirc are under a bad barracks. Ive seen the 3 trucks with failed carrier bearings for my mechanic buddy trick on 88 around oneonta.Coffey Thanks this. -

When the man gets you on the bypass road and asks what you were doing, youve got crohns disease, had to get off the interstate to find somewhere to take an emergency dump before you crapped your pants, and are now trying to route back on.
I crapped myself wins a lot of "what are you doins" even if its just to shut the other party up by sheer awkwardness.Coffey Thanks this.
