You are driving up a road that is two lanes in the direction that you are driving and one lane coming the other way. The entrance you are going to back into is on the left.

When there is no traffic with your high beams and flashers on you swing into the one lane side of the road so that you can do the setup to get your trailer close to the entrance. Then you back in.

    Is this legal?

Don't put your high beams on. All you are doing is blinding the on coming traffic who may not notice which lane you are in until it's too late.

Maybe not legal but u gotta get the job done. I cant tell u how many times ive had to back out into a main road with no spotters, just stick it out there little by little , once the first lane stops then the rest usually follow... Same concept with backing up off the road .. Set it up and get the job done , then let traffic get on... One time down in san diego i was backing into this little roofiing shop. Had to back in from off the road. Pretty busy little residential street..i set it up, blocked traffic, had a spotter and had my spread at 90 degrees trying to get er in there. Long story short when i got straightened out, i realized there was a firetruck sitting there on my blindside, the whole time with his lights on . he hit the siren as soon as i got backed in. I felt guilty a little bit , i thought man what if i just caused somebody to die cuz the firefighters got held up lol

Well this is actually how I would back into my yard. There's enough room to turn around but I would have to take a tree down and lay stone and I don't want to do all that this year. Next year I will. But for now I can back in.

I'm just curious if the police saw me doing that if they would give me a hard time.

I prefer to back in that way because not only is it easier to put the trailer in, but if anyone is coming down the opposite side of the road while I'm backing in they are completely blocked out. Then I just have to worry about if anybody is behind me on the other side.

Who cares. I block the whole #### road until I'm backed in. I do it all the time all over the Northeast and never got a second look from the cops.

Most of the time police wont give you ####. Sometimes theyll turn their lights on and let you get in and go on about their day.

I've backed across 5 lanes in down town LA delivering chicken to little Chinese food markets. It's all in a days work. Just do your job and dont hold up people any more than necessary and you'll be fine.

No problem I can see with your setup other than the high beams not being the best idea.

If I use my high beams it's merely a quick flash to try and grab the oncoming's attention. The hardest part is indicating your intent so the people behind you don't try to pass you first chance they get.

Yea I've blocked entire boulevards. The dock is where it is.

Just gotta move with caution so some kamikaze doesn't go screaming under your trailer .

This. I'd suggest hitting the left turn signal as you approach before jumping into the on coming lane. Then hit the hazards.
