I think you may be seeing trailers that belong to a carrier and have Amazon advertising. Companies do this quite a bit for there big customers, and use the trailers throughout their customer base not just that customer.

I saw on the news Amazon wants to use less Fed-Ex/UPS/USPS for deliveries.

They are trailers that are owned by Amazon. You can tell by the 4 letter SCAC code preceeding the trailer number that is required if it is going on the rail.
They are almost always pulled by unknown trucking companies with fresh DOT numbers, which according to the FMCSA are being issued at the rate of 135 a day, 34,000 a year.

It was reported that FedEx did not renew it's contract with Amazon for last mile delivery. Guess that means more USPS or UPS for rural deliveries and Amazon contractors for urban deliveries.

Yea all I see now pulling those trailers are jack leg o/o tractors..what are they pulling them for 79 cents a mile?
