I agree, orange works better. If you use it all the time, no need to rainex the windshield.

I still rainx the windshields on top of using that stuff to "maintain" it. I have the pleasure of dealing with love bugs every May so you need every lil bit of help you can get lol.

I kind of hesitate to say this, because I don't want the price to go up...

One gallon of walmart distilled water—88 cents. Then add a 64 oz. refill of Great Value brand (Windex) refill—$1.95

Of course, this only works above freezing, but you won't find a better bug remover anywhere.

A quart jug of Equate brand 91% isopropyl added to the mix would probably make it winter friendly but drives the cost way up. Add another $2.50

Don't do that unless your truck has crappy paint and you want to replace the washer pump every 6 months. Part of what makes Purple Power work so good is sodium hydroxide (lye).

I'm one of those in the "I hate Rain X" camp. It causes the wipers to chatter and the water not to wipe off cleanly.

My dad on the other hand, swears by it and put it in my car every time he tinkers under the hood. Lol

I've used to dish washing soap trick before, I think I'll stick with that. It works way better and is less than half price.

After a while, that causes gloopy #### to build up in the bottle, eventually plugging up your nozzles. I used to do that too (Dawn).

Distilled water and GV windex for the win.

They are all the same with one exception. Rain X as part of the mix and one of two seasons, Bug Season now and ice season later this year.

Otherwise I'll drive to Texas and let the birds clean the bugs off everything. Takes about 20 of them about 15 minutes to get it done without any fuss.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Next Walmart I come upon I'll get some dish soap. Driving through Virginia/Tennessee. Those skeeters destroyed my windshield in 15 min LOL!
