Really? Clearly you’re not paying attention. Import/export has been jacked up all summer long due to tariffs.

No, new truck sales are down because of unforeseen expansion last year. Dealerships over ordered this year thinking it would continue and they didn’t want empty lots again. Market correction is what is here.

Probably a good year to buy a new truck though, as the lots fill up.

The bond yield wouldn't be an issue if our government didn't base its long term monetary strategy on borrowing obscene amounts of money.

Selling bonds was meant to raise money for war or other unforseen emergencies or catastrophes.

But we've made war and welfare an integral part of our economic engine.

    What could go wrong???

I wouldn't put too much stock in trucks sitting on lots. The guys here ordering new ones are having to wait several months to a year still on a new one.

I ordered a new truck this year, W990 went into full scale production towards the end of January and mine was on the ground in April as I was told it would be. Same amount of time it took for my T660 when I ordered it in 2014.

For some reason it takes a long time to get one with haulroad specs. I tend to think as long as they are busy building regular hiway rigs ours are on the back burner.

That ain't an indicator. Stores are always going to have full shelves. People are going to eat and clothe themselves. When people aren't doing the extra stuff outside of necessities, thats a better indicator of recession. The economy stinks. If it was great, the trucking industry wouldn't be going through a "bloodbath." It wouldn't have mattered that every bought trucks in the boom because we all would be hauling loads at a good rate. The stock market has been dropping like hell. Pretty good indicator that the economy being strong was over estimated
