    Should they care?

They hire people that come to them for a job.
What those people do after that...?

And how do you think the company can screen out 'the bad people'?
    How would you do it?

It's best to just stay out of it and call the truck stop and 911. I think most of the truck stops have some kind of security.

You have to be careful because you never know what's going to happen. People could be staging a fight to get you out of your truck. You might get in the middle of it and somebody pulls a knife and stabs you or shoots you.

As far as a man carrying on with a woman goes...

Many many years ago I was driving my car and I made it turn and I saw this guy with this girl and they were really going at it. This guy just turned around and he clotheslined her like WWE. Maybe he actually hit her I don't know but she went right down on the concrete and I thought he broke her head open.

So I get out of the car and the guy starts screaming at me it's not my problem. So I look at the girl and I say are you okay, and she turns around and looks at me and says that's my man who the hell do you think you are!

So I looked at her and I said, you're going to get what you're looking for, and I got in my car and took off.

Getting involved is like fighting or shooting. It's the absolute Last Resort.

I worked on an older couples truck once. I was talking to the guy and ask if they did pretty good as a husband and wife team. He said they did good, just don't get out while fighting and go inside, he had to take a bus back to PA once. lol

. . . yeah, when the only outs are either voluntarily stranding yourself at a truck stop or hurling yourself from a 80k pound moving vehicle it's time to reconsider your choices.

You will deal with violence. My last go around was in central south Chicago that I knew as Calumet. I still have the tire thumper in one corner as a memento of that assault by two predators. I am happy that they broke off the attack and that would be that.

The violence is sometimes very racial. I was in Patterson NJ late at night trying to find a shipper, with really bad directions. Saw that there was a bar front and went there with papers to get clarification. I stood in the door frame and there was 50 of another race staring me as if who let the ####roach in here.. it was NOT friendly. The biggest among then sorted me out and I would never return to that area because some of the predators in their own way are unstable and it will be a real problem. Patterson endured damage in the '68 riots as several other cities did too.

The best example of violence in trucking will be myself and my wife. In the Jackson Truckstop spouse had standing orders never to pull down to fuel at the old 76 (Now TA) to fuel there or park in the back behind the truckstop itself. No matter what.

A predator thought the spouse would be easy pluckings and went after her. She retreated to our Cab which was left open thankfully. Predator followed her into our Cab, that makes it home invasion scenario with a side of sexual assault that will happen if I was not there.

I had to wake up and grab the Ka-Bar and go out of the bunk and send the blade to his really big neck, due to his greed and desire to complete the rape he was really in a bad spot. Fortunately for all of us involved he fled. It was the only way it must resolve that way. These days as a concealed Carry in a big truck with my ex as a co-driver and she is under sexual attack as I described it before? It is absolutely my right to stop the threat with the .45 Might take a few rounds to get him stopped. And it will be very messy.

Finally but not last. Violence that does not concern you, your truck and trailer You go to the sleeper with everything locked and wait for the problem to resolve itself. This does not concern you. Its not about you. And so on.

Literally not your problem. Now if they pull knives or guns and start using them, you are in a position to call the Lawman out. Hopefully they will arrive fairly quickly.

Never ever get involved. If you think it’s going to really get bad, call in the cavalry (truckstop security or police).

“I now do not know what to do. But here's the thing - they are both female, black and yelling at each other in a dialect that the lower class speaks in. Now look, I'm not trying to be mean or hateful or anything, but this is important to note because I am a white male.” QUOTE

Yes because race and class plays such an important part in some people’s daily life.
