Any questions just ask. You’ll get a lot of info in the DOT handbook, the classroom training is very helpful. The driver training is PRICELESS & would be hard to beat elsewhere. Relax, learn, have fun in this new life chapter!

I've been driving for 23 years and looking forward to being with a great company. I want my next job to be the last.

Great to see the positivity at this company. My wife used to live in Ardmore and knew many people who worked at Dot and loved it. Decided to apply for the Ardmore location this past Wednesday, 8/14, based out of the drop lot a few miles from me in Saginaw, TX.
Been an instructor at a school the past 7 months after having been a stay at home parent for some time (previously drove OTR 6 years & 2 years as a local driver). Instructing made me realize I really miss the road. A lot. That, and this job has no growth to it.
Status still shows "submission received," but my range manager told me the director asked him if I was leaving on Thursday. Found that interesting as I only told him and 2 other people. Another coworker thinks it may have been Dot that called and he put 2 and 2 together. In any case, hoping to hear something positive or negative this week! I too want this to be my last. Tired of jumping around!Daddiopwns Thanks this. -
I didn’t know your driving experience. You’ll start @ a great rate, training will be easy then. Just learn their delivery process, paperwork, & scanner. You picked your last company to drive for I believe! Have fun, a lot of great people @ DOT. The company knows you by voice & your name, not a number...
Daddiopwns and QBall3577 Thank this. -
How's the hotel they put you up in? Do you pay for your food and turn in the receipts and they pay you back?

The hotel is the IRISH house in Mt. Sterling, DOT owns it. It’s nice, has a pool. Not sure about dinner for you. I believe they’ve breakfast provided @ the hotel. DOT provides catered meals to trainees for lunch on site during class training. During driver training your trainer covers your meals.

So is everyone's orientation conducted in Mt. Sterling? I'm not so much concerned, but my wife was hoping it would be out of the DC i'm applying for, provided I get the job, so I could come home on the weekend during.

I’m not sure about everyone. Distance from MTS makes a difference. I know there are driver trainers at all DOT DC’s. You’d have to ask where your classroom training would be held.
