Poor Lucson was forced to take a 10 hour break 5 minutes away from his house
But Lucson was luck to have a place 5 minutes from his house to park
Or Lucson may be full of ####

Drivers would be required to take a 10-hour off-duty break at the conclusion of their 14 hours on-duty after using the proposed pause option...
However, the agency has proposed a slight revision of the allowed split-sleeper berth options, which would allow drivers to split their off-duty sleeper berth time into two periods of seven hours and three hours, similar to the current eight-hour, two-hour split allowed under current regulations. This change is in addition to the proposal to allow drivers to pause their 14-hour clock. A significant difference, too, is that the shorter break wouldn’t count against the driver’s next 14-hour on-duty period...
I'm confused. If you pause for 3 hours you would have to take a 10 after or if you pause for 3 you would only have to take the remaining 7?
Nothing wrong with some flexibility IMO. Seems like a move in the right direction.Truckermania and Nostalgic Thank this. -
If Lucson hauled livestock on paper logs, he’d be in a fiery crash leaving the stockyard.LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
(Actually, I wish politicians would do less--every time they get an idea, we take it in the shorts.)JPenn and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
If I am taking a three-hour break due to unforeseen circumstances, I'm doing that at a company facility for the benefit of the company. If I'm on lunch break, I'm resting for myself.
Two very different things. -

I don’t care. I rarely work and drive more than 8 hours in a day. HOS hasn’t been an issue with me for as long as I can remember. I stay out 3 weeks at a time on average, but I just relax while I’m gone and take it easy. I don’t chase the dollar, I chase the peace of mind
Last Time Around, roshea and LtlAnonymous Thank this.
