They take you over to a boot store in Quincy, IL to buy boots. DOT gives you a voucher & it covers the cost of steel toed boots/shoes. After initial hiring you get a yearly boot allowance.

They strongly suggest your DOT shirt while working. Polo is probably not the correct term, let’s say it’s a colored t-shirt with a DOT logo. After your initial 3 free shirts you have the option of putting your first or last name on your shirts for additional cost. Orientation is casual dress. Presentable . No cutoff shorts and crocs or flip flops. The office staff dress casual professional M-Th, & casual on Friday.

I believe about $10 a shirt. Any apparel they can do payroll deduction for, Spread it over 2-3 paydays. You get 3 free shirts every year. If you don’t use your boot allowance each year you can buy apparel with that money also.
