Is this for 1 mill liability, cargo and physical?
For me liability alone is $23k.
My corporation is based in FL and so is my authority.

It's the standard $1 million $100k that brokers require.

Here I uploaded a screen grab... this is the auto and general freight..

    It's $17k if I pay cash, $20 financed

Keep in mind thats nothing on my truck if My truck gets totaled. It's a paid off used truck and I can just replace it or fix it myself.

I wish you guys all the luck in the world. I know you live and work in Florida and setting up your operation, when ever I went there mostly delivering bank vault doors ( which paid good ) getting out was always difficult ( with something paying) most of the time deadheading to GA. or Al. made the most sense to me. The first few times I lost a lot of time just looking at the load board ( nothing there ) No disrespect intended just my experience.

To be fair the agent said I'm on the low end here in FL. She said the average is actually in the 30's for a new MC 1st year. What kills me though is I've see other guys posts here just a few years backs saying they got insurance 1st year MC for $7-9k.. I guess rates jumped a hell of a lot in the last couple years..

Yea even when I drove a reefer truck it was crappy loads or dead head to GA to get out of FL.. It's the reason I'm willing to pay the extra money for the ability to haul cars. There is a lot of auctions here in FL as well as the ports so there is at least always work hauling cars..

Personally though I really do not like FL much and will eventually move elsewhere but I need to stay here for the time being..

Ok.. I have another update that maybe you will want to look at.

I told you yesterday my rate was $20k as a auto carrier.. Today was an Amazing day..

Turns out today was the day a minor love tap booboo dropped off my licence. When I 1st started driving trucks, I love tapped a Cascadia's side skirt on a snow covered lot. Was just a small crack in the plastic under $500 but because it was a MEGA's truck and a company's driver it had to be reported and it ended up on my records.. (3 points)

Well today, it turns out that dropped off my record. I called back to get a quote for insurance out of Missouri because that's where my LLC is based. The agent I spoke to today noticed the change in my accident dropping off so he gave me a new quote in FL..

My new quote as a Auto carrier with new MC in FL is $12k/year financed.. (that's zero reportables so far as tickets or accidents.) Amazing what the difference in 24 hrs is right?

Now get this, it gets better...

He gave me a quote with the business run out of Springfield, MO and my MC pulled from there.. Still the exact same insurance but a few small differences in what MO & FL require.. but drumroll....

$8,5k/year.. for a band new MC# that can haul both cars & general freight.. Needless to say I will be soon taking a trip back out to MO and renting a office..

Also I checked the difference between $100k cargo & $250k and it's about $1,5k/year if I were to up it to that much.

Edit, I also want to not that I am getting a discount because I've been with Progressive with my personal policy for quite a few years. Not sure how much that effects it as well.

I called progressive and the agent wouldn’t even quote because my numbers weren’t a year old.
