If money is no object? You get one of those $1700 Tesla batteries and charge it up on hometime.People are usin these in off grid living now.

Do you want to run 120volt amplifier by using inverter ? That music will be full of distortion, I would say low quality high volume noise. It's not smart. Even if you will use pure sine inverter distortion will be high. Change your audio equipment. Get High End class audio equipment for car. You will not need to put extra batteries on truck.
Delco Remi has 40SI series alternators that will give you 300-320A and it's the biggest that I know exist.
You said you like rock. what bands do you like ?

The QSC 1000 watts are concert quality speakers, very loud and very clean sound. The 5.25’s and 6x9’s will use a efficient Inifinity 12v amplifier.

The QSC’s will be separate from the instock dash unit as it will connect directly to my smartphone or iPad for the entertainment part.

If a 300-320 amp exists i think its enough to get the job done without the need for a generator, i asked an electrical engineer to look into how it can be done, so we shall see, I’m trying to keep costs down as it will be exploration of what is capable on a low budget testing.

Use what i have and use what is needed in the truck.

I do not know much about sound systems, but I see cars all the time that spreads the doors and trunk lids with 12 volt systems. These would probably seperate the seams of a freightliner cab. lol Anyway some pretty impressive 12 sound systems are available.

I am sure that inverters have come a long way, and I have never really needed one, so have only a small one I plug in the lighter in my truck. I use a propane one burner to make coffee with my perculater and like it better anyway.
Back when everybody first started installing inverters, tv's rfridges and such, I was running my shop and sold lots of alternators, so have pretty much shied away from them.

The amplifier for the 5.25’s and 6x9’s will be a infinity reference series 4 channel. This will be my radio while I drive.

But if I want to turn on the QSC 1000 watt self powered speakers, while I’m driving I want to be able to have the alternator supply more juice to the batteries then I am drawing.

Now if I can’t find an alternator that can supply enough juice to run the QSC speakers then a generator is my best bet.

I just don’t want to give up my philosophy of kiss.

    Keep it simple stupid.

I have Pionner GM-D9701 1200w mono for sub and GM-DX975 for speakers. Speakers are HK and Bose. Never had discharge problem when truck was in motion. I like high volume music but not rock. I have 160A alternator on engine. If your amps are 12v you don't need 300A alternator. That kettle you will not use more than 5x in a day I guess.

I listen from rock to polka, hell I’ll listen yodeling as well if I’m in the mood.

    The QSC specs are here.

What I’m trying to figure out is if it’s 2.2 amp draw at full power?

As far as your question on what bands I like.

Metallica, AC/DC, guns and roses, kiss, many others as well. Depending on the music and mood I’m in.
