Not really. The garbage that’s going on is acceptable to me. 2 more years and I’m done. If it stays the same I’m good.

"Pick up an empty in a Publix parking lot" they said. "It'll be easy" they said.

Trailer's been here a while, apparently. Spider webs complete with spiders and spider food on the trailer skirts. Also has a flat tire. Currently sitting here waiting to see if the TIS will inflate it or if I will have to call Breakdown.

Just curious, how did you know it wasn’t a driver in distress? Were they trying to contact him/her on their 10 or was he supposed to be up and ready to drive?

Don’t get me wrong, while I totally agree that I would be a bit irritated if I was just asked to go “wake someone up”, what if it was a driver in distress?

Thinking I would have to turn around “just in case”... and then, if it wasn’t an emergency or the driver was on his Break, then I would be chewing on someone’s hinny... either the driver for not answering the phone when he was supposed to be available (thus creating a safety check) or the office for bothering a driver on their break.

Either way, ya, frustrating for sure.

    I understand MD.
    Remember I said...
I'm going to make this short!
I didn't tell the whole story because it would be a very looooong writing at 2:00 AM and I was starting my driving.
    Let me answer your question.
I ask the person... Was he sick? Answer No. Did he call you saying he was sick before. Answer No, no, no,no...o_O
Please don't get me wrong. If they would have told me he was having some kind of health problem I would have had no problem going to help!
Now if I'm having some kind of problem laying in bed there is a "Distress" (panic red button) emergency button! Next to you. Simply touch that button and you will get all the attention and help you need! :) And yes! The driver has a brand new Volvo with the system. 15662594842521240079681.jpg k

It would have been quicker to call the fuel desk to do a wellness check on the driver. Not for nothing, I really don’t want to be the one finding an over baked driver in a truck that’s been hanging around a few days in the heat. They have special people for that, LEO, EMT. Not John a truck driver. Sorry if this offends anyone, just my thoughts.

Does Abilene and other companies have some sort of contract with these truck stops with a clause that includes this “wellness check” business or something?

Why should some fuel desk attendant do some trucking company dispatcher’s job for them when they probably think they’re not paid enough to do their own?
