Take an old load lock, cut it down to to 2 or 3 ft, put it over the seal and pull it down. It will break. Think like a thief. Lol

Not going to try and spell his name but, guy said "give me a long enough lever, and I can move the world". Probably not his exact words. Archemedis??????

Was at a consignee today where all inbound loads had bolt seals. The staff at guard shack was cutting the seals. Watched a young stocky guard struggle with several seals as I was standing in line to check in. He was using cutters that looked to have 18" handles.
Just goes to show anyone can have issues with those pesky bolt seals.

Because of hauling containers, I cut bolt seals every day, some times four or five times. The bolt cutters I have about 3 ft long, made of skeletonized cast steel, weigh about 15 or 20 lbs, the jaws are adjustable and replaceable. I've had them probably 15 yrs, still never replaced the jaws, the only thing they won't cut is hardened steel Master Locks or the round specialized padlocks. Usually I slip them on the bolt and pull together, but sometimes I do have to wedge them against my chest on the harder bolts. Don't recall the name of them, but I got them at Tool Zone, they are made in England.

  5. yeah some people have that or the real thing the true Dremel works like a boss 2 this is more like a generic Dremel but it's pretty good...

  6. I try but I won't kill myself trying to do it if I try and they said you have to break it I say well I worked on it for 5 minutes it didn't happen I guess I'll just call my company and we'll take it back where it came from....
usually they will break it then but as long as you show a little bit of an effort and they say you can't do it I love holding up lines forever to as I just sit there trying to get I know it's not going to go it's one of those days when the arthritis just does not want to bust it I don't really care...
I'll hold up the line for an hour if I have to in doesn't matter to me. I'm trying to break it you want me to do it I'm doing the best I can..
I've seen guard struggle myself more than once to trying to do it sometimes they're issued lousy bolt cutters that's when I learned about the Dremel where I seen him keep it charged up it was a BJ's wholesale Club coming with a big bolt seal in the guard she would come out and just cut that thing off with a drama like a boss.. if you have a a do you you can just keep charging it right off your inverter or keep one charged up just for that purpose can always find an outlet somewhere even out in the public place

  7. there's a big difference between a cable seal and a bolt seal and a giant railroad cable seal that' some places like to put on

  8. the best thing you can do is to get yourself some bolt seals they cost about five bucks for two at the truck stop right there where you go where all the plastic seals are by yourself a nice set of bolt cutters and learn how to do it yourself you'd be surprised with a little bit of practice you'll have it done in no time at all ..
unless you just physically limited and some people are making up get there hand to push hard enough whether they're arthritic or just aren't very strong..
but that's one thing I recommend should I plead the new people and companies are to do that to they should buy a bunch of generic bolt seals you could get from J. JJ Keller...
start with a decent set of bolt cutters buy some new ones at Home Depot or harbor tool or wherever and let people learn how to break them

A cordless angle grinder with a cutting blade on it, not a grinding blade. A cut-off blade.

Best way to cut cable seals, get a cable cutter, like the type they use for installing garage door cables. Buddy of mine got me one about 20 yrs ago, $80 bucks for an oversized pair of tin snips, sometimes they cut in one pass, other times I make two cuts.
