Rare truck even for here. I don't think I've ever seen a twin steer logging truck in these parts.

here it is very rare too, i have seen 2 of them in bosnia, and no elsewhere.
such axle configuration is not good in terrain, as it dig its front into ground.

in finland they use (almost all) 4axle timber trucks. some use 2+2 axle formula, some 1+1+2, some 1+3 (both lead and tag axle). i would def. stay away from 2+2, 1+1+2 can sit on second axle in terrain.
i think 1+3 with lead axle would be best, but most expensive since it is not serial production.

    EDIT: forget about this

seen this once before 10years in germany, obviously for same owner

Twin steer seems to be an oilfield thing in these parts. Usually bed/pole trucks or stinger (crane) trucks.

    Oxbow and pushbroom Thank this.

Not sure.... a regular dump truck with a lift axle in front of the drives can permit to 77,000 I believe.... they haul 24 tons net all the time.

The only twin steers you see around here are rotator wreckers....

Question for @pushbroom and @spsauerland. Do you guys know if modern (say 2000 and up) front leaf springs from a T800 or W900 would fit my W900A? Will the non-greasable pins/bushings be compatible with my old hangers? I'm looking at picking up a complete drum to drum steer axle with springs to stick under my truck. Figure it'd be easier than trying to add front brakes and finding hub pilot hubs that will match my old 931 Rockwell.

    Oxbow and spsauerland Thank this.
