new team advice please

Wonder when that happened?

 

About 6 months ago i believe.

 

Their website must not be up to date; it still shows they hire new cdl grads and will actually pay for cdl school.

 

We were a married team, wife went to a school to get CDL in Arkansas where we lived. I would visit that school to watch her do manuvering etc. from time to time. The Barrels were a problem but she got it done. But that does not mean that kind of backing with a semi would improve with her.

Took her to Lancaster to train with me as a trainer after her orientation that week. Company had provided me a 12 week progress report book to teach her etc. By week two were a full reefer team running as such.

You think you know your spouse or sig other but that tractor and sleeper is a very small space for two people and the United States is a very big country. Even some Canada or a touch of Mexico if need be. You will learn about her weaknesses and vice versa for her. For instance I loathed paperwork in those days its about a inch thick by the time the load papers got into the yellow trip pack back to HR for us to be paid. Some loads were not properly paid if at all. So we duplicated everything and each month went to a DM and say the company did not pay us this that and some other by trip numbers assigned etc. We go get a 4 figure comcheck to square us with the company without trouble.

Two thoughts for the two of you. When one is in the driving seat he or she is the Boss. Whatever the Boss does with the truck is what ever will happen.

The other thought. You do not have domestics inside you tractor trailer at work. If the two of you have a issue to fight about, one of you goes into the sleeper with curtain shut and quiet rule until you have stopped wanting to fight or vice versa.

Thats just a couple of small thoughts. You are coming into winter I cannot think of a better time to learn and settle in to trucking before the snow and ice arrive. (That will come sooner than you think...)

It's not. I've had a few friends call and get told that. Of course they're the "Covenant" group. They can do as they please..lol.
