yep, when they figure in producing the extra electricity.
One of my problems I have is that the govt subsidizes them in a big way, I see no need for me to be paying for half of someone elsess car. lol

I really don't care if people drive them for what they would be useful for, around town in suburban areas.
A friend of mine bought a Tesla up here what a useless rig, it drives it self, it is FAST, but you can not even go to the next town in it. lol

Extra electricity isn't the half of it. The rare earth for the motors and lithium for the batteries are HUGE environmental problems. Do a search for a rare earth mine...

That's just using one study to tell you what you want to hear. 99% of the members here don't really care about the environment

I care deeply about the environment, but what I don't care about is the whole green propaganda thing that is pushed to bring us down to equal the rest of the world.

They fight the oilfied on the slope relentlessy, and have for years.
99.9999999% of the population will never lay eyes on it, those that have and do, can not find one drop of oil or grease or a piece of trash on the entire slope, in winter when everything is snow white, you will never find a darker colored spot. And it really hurt the wildlife, as they are all over the field, in numbers that were not there before.

There is a set of tracks near Waterloo, IA that I've seen trucks stop on waiting for the light. I stop well back of them.

I'm not the type to embrace the "tell you what you want to hear" ideology. But I am type to listen to as many facts as I can.

Less than 10% of those hybrid batteries are being recycled. The rest are being stored for future recycling. But recycling needs to catch up with production.

Blows me away how cavalier so many are about it. I mean it falls right in line with the rest of the zero-Situational-awareness crap we see on a daily basis, but #####! That screw up can be fatal!

I'll give you a heads up if my sandbar gets flooded or sinks first.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking..."That train looked liked it just kicked a field goal"...

Far as the Prius goes.....it could go the way of the Dodo bird an I wouldn't be upset. Actually...it's the owners/drivers that irk me. The car itself just makes me laugh.
