Definitely be happy. Not everyone is fairing so well with the trade war going on. I know LTL is down for sure. Thankfully we are weathering the storm the best. Volume down, revenue up, and operating ratio is at a new low I believe. We were worried about our cost of living raise this year but we are getting a 2 cpm bump, 401k increase, and health insurance improved.

Yeah well there are only so many god guys (several posting here) out there so I’m glad to hear they are keeping you moving.

Rates in flats are off this summer, I’m doing ok, but it takes more thinking than it did last year for sure. Still lovin it though lol.

Yeah, people still need their flu vaccines, plasma, cancer drugs and insulin, etc… So we are still busy. But I’ve noticed our backhaul’s are much cheaper and fewer than normal. We had three trucks in Indiana and could only find two back hauls to North Carolina that work for our time schedules… So they deadheaded me home empty

Good to know. As long as I'm hitting 2000 miles a week year round I'll be happy as a clam.

Thats a good mentality. You'll probably love the job more. Not sure what your life is like, but if no kids, wife, etc., you can really make a lot out of the job. Take some time off some where and uber around and see the sights. This job is what you make it.

Update: I did my whole cab pretrip today again with no notes, so Dave took me on a delivery! Got to hook/unhook air lines, set and release the landing gear, do a REAL pretrip, and get my first on the road experience in a truck! It was awesome. Tomorrow is 4 hours of shifting in the yard, I cant wait!!
