Sent my truck in for ac service ran fine but no ac.
I'm sure its coincidental, but get the truck back next day after reaching operating temp. It starts surging horribly. To the point you'd think it's going to cut off. I limp it back to shop. It throws ipr icp and accelerator pedal codes.
Take it back home so they don't RIP me off turn off then it doesn't start again.
I changed ipr, it goes right up every time will run a few seconds then shut off.
Still throwing icp and accelerator pedal codes.
Any one have any advice? This truck is a nightmare. I don't feel every sensor in the fuel system elll bad all at once. I don't want to just keep throwing parts at it to no avail. Thanks

In the 8 years I’ve worked at an international dealer I have never seen that combination. Hmmm quite a thinker here, do you have pedal response? Does it even run long enough to check that? usually when they start and die it’s an exhaust back pressure issue. You can check the ICP sensor on 2010 emmisons by disconnecting the UVC1 connector (farthest forward connector on valve cover gasket/harness) but that wouldn’t make it not run, unless it was shorted. On anything newer than 07 with pedal codes I have never seen it not be the pedal. Does it have the updated IPR valve now with the new pigtail. I’m assuming so you said you replaced it, so should be. What ICP codes are there?

It is updated pigtail and it had been previously updated.
Yes itll stay running if you set cruise. Otherwise itll die if you try to throttle it. Although, it does have pedal response. The two codes pertaining to this are not showing active but
Spn 91 fmi 4 accelerator pedal or lever position sensor 1
Spn 679 fmi 4 icp low voltage

Pedal and ICP sensor are on the 5VREF, if I was looking at this I would start by checking the grounds from the battery box to the engine block. If nothing found I would verify I had 5 bolts at all of the sensors in the VREF, obviously I would start with APP, and ICP, and also load test the wires. If that all was good I would check resistance back through to the ECM, I think it would be a ground though. Because the APP connects at the ECM Chassis connector and the ICP is at the injector harness connector. And all of the other sensors on the VREF are on the Engine connector, I don’t think there are any after treatment sensors that run 5 volt reference, not that I can think of anyways. What A/C work did they do? The A/C compressor has the EBP sensor directly behind it could possibly have the harness pinched. I’ve never seen it but seems possible.

Ok. So I've checked and cleaned grounds tested each connector for 5 v
Lift pump is getting a clean 12
Truck will start. Run 30 seconds cut off.
Now if I set cruise it'll stay running. I'm not sure where to go from here besides replacing pedal assembly. I don't want to throw parts at it, but this down time is killing me. Also pulled from connection on valve cover like you stated. Starts runs cuts off exactly the same.
    Help!!

Scratch that. Disconnected batteries cleaned a greased terminals now truck shuts off no matter what.
Oh I hate this thing. Local international dealer wants 479 plus tax for throttle position sensor. I'm not sure if that the next step or what.

A bad throttle sensor will not cause it to shut down. What are the exact codes it is logging?

    Jager1 Thanks this.

    There are no active codes.
    Stored reoccurring codes are
    spn 91 fmi4
    Spn 91. Fmi 3
    Spn 164 fmi 3

There are many more but they just appeared from me starting the truck with things unplugged. The 91 - 3 just occurred after cleaning reconnecting battery. The low voltage codes are all that keep occurring.
