Well, few weeks back I ended up picking up couple dry vans, one of my older once’s my driver was loaded, the street he parked at,the branches or branch got caught in the roof and he didn’t notice, and drove off with the branch being stuck in the roof..... and it yanked off the whole roof.. how should I repair this... can this be repaired by like cut out of of the same material of the roof and just patch it or... do I have to replace the whole thing ? How much should this cost on average? Thanks in advance for all the feed back guys.

Ouch!!! Of course it can repaired, no idea on cost. They can cut out the bad. I would have them start at front and replace whole section til no breaks or cracks. You could get tape measure and figure out feet then start calling dealers and quality trailer repair shops and ask. How much to replace X. Amount of feet of a translucent roof

I would spend the money now and just replace that plastic stuff with an aluminum roof.

I’d get it to your local trailer shop ASAP and see what they say. My guess is you’ll just want to go with a new aluminum roof if you can afford to. I’m not sure how they repair translucent ones.

Where are you located? If near Indianapolis I’d take it to Stoops or JBK trailer repair. Either place will do a good and efficient job.

Turn it into your insurance and see what they say.

it's not always possible to replace translucent roof with aluminum. I would say in 90% of cases it's not possible. I have asked about it in trailer dealers.

@Parminder99 this is junk . if you would give it to me I would not take it. ))) more over I would pay someone to remove it from my yard. My dear friend You are not in India. Spend more and get something better.

I like the translucent roof in my van trailer. Allows much better lighting and several customers have liked it too

They just tend to leak more from my experience. And when you repair them you gotta use some sort of epoxy crap vs being able to rivet in a new piece. As for light, skylights work well in the upper walls on metal roof trailers.

Are you able to haul food grade?

I don't like those skylights. I hauled 1 or 2 food grade before, but mostly hauled tractors, forklifts, building supplies and other misc
