NYC? We ain't got nothing there. Jersey city takes it to islands and #### -
I've been to New York. Can't recommend not doing that enough. And people complain about the traffic in MY area. Lol

@jtaran06 is Brooklyn not considered part of New York City? It might as well be for an out of towner like me!! well, I guess I would have to suck it up, trip plan extra extra thoroughly, and be extra careful if they sent me there. I've made it through Chicago, Atlanta, LA, Dallas/Fort Worth, hopefully I would do ok in nyc as well. If worse came to worse and I mess up and go down a street I can't get out of, call 911. Better to possibly lose my job than to hurt or kill somebody, has been my motto.
@ltlannonymous when you say "New York" in your posts are you talking about the state of New York or New York City? To be clear, I would have no problems running the state of New York it's just nyc I have qualms about (though I could get over I suppose).
So you guys are talking about being an extra on a load board. Do you choose your own routes on the load board or does a dispatcher give you a few options to choose from or what?
I seem to recall an old Chinatown post where he said he made more money being an extra on a load board than other drivers who were running dedicated routes. -
Reckon I oughta get use to 4 day work weeks lol

322 tonight lol. 6.5 hrs. Back home. -
You choose your routes.
Depends on the schedule dudes route. Some dudes make 2200 every single week running a scheduleGhentSaintPeters Thanks this. -
Are most manuals? How many autos are in your fleets?
For road testing, how strict are they on down shifting versus floating it into gear?
I tested out with a manual so I can legally drive one, but I never could correctly downshift. I just kept it slow as hell during the test, never went above 30 MPH and timed the lights to come to a complete stop so I that could start my gear pattern from scratch.
I also struggled with double clutching. Though my instructors floated gears basically the whole time they drove the trucks so maybe double clutching isn't seen as a big deal in the real world with company road tests? -
Hope y’all working lol at home tonight too Lol
