My best advice is if you choose to go this route. Make sure to check references of possible employees, run background checks, and check driving records, and possible criminal history. I own a trucking company with all early model Peterbilt's pulling oversize, and mostly Cattle. Every driver i have or employ goes through these steps. I have had all my drivers for many years, the lowest person driving for me has been here 10 years.

There may not be a shortage, but there's more of a shortage than any other area of employment I've worked in. Normally I'd have to work for a job, interview, and explain everything on my resume. Take multiple interviews, stand on my head, answer 800 questions correctly..

Trucking I just applied, piss clean and provided a clean mvr. Automatically hired after passing the easy CDL stuff. Made twice as much my first year than I did after 10 years working in IT fixing computers.

Not saying it easy. It was very stressful learning to drive a truck, and I stuck with it. But there's gotta be a shortage of something somewhere

If you think there is a shortage of drivers, then you have no business starting a business. You are ill informed and need to do more research.

Not saying dont start it, just start it after a lot more research.
