Ok first of all please no negative comments about how LP is a bad idea. I've done a lot of home work on it. I know there are people out there that have gotten burned, I also know people who have done it successfully and own 2 or 3 rigs now. So with that said please refrain from negative talk.
My question is which is better mileage pay or percentage? I've heard good and bad from both sides, but it doesn't seem like very many companies are offering good rates on either scale. I'm leaning towards percentage mostly cause it seems easier on the math.
I also want to know which companies are good ones and who has a set up where you can choose your own loads. I also do not want anything to do with Freightliners they suck, kenworth is alright, and maybe a Volvo although I've heard good and bad on volvos.
What company is the best with hands on help to the driver, not hold my hand kind of deal but gives me good business advice and stuff like that.
Any thoughts guys, your opinions matter to me especially you guys that have done this successfully.

But, do you know why and how those people succeeded? What were they doing different from the those who failed.
Have you developed your business model ... Have you run a milage pay vs percentage through your model.
Here's the thing ... Milage pay is safe and consistent. Percentage pay can be more lucrative. But with percentage, you have to really, really know what your doing. If you don't you'll lose your butt quick. And if you know what you're doing, you wouldn't be asking the question, you can figure out what answer is going to fit best with your business plan.Jarhed1964, DrFlush and Western flyer Thank this. -

I never asked for such negativity, just simple answers, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place for that.
