Is the load sealed ?? If not you can fine tune your weights a bit by moving some bags once your in a close enough hole on the slider

Tell these 'ol boys to take off one pallet or the whole load doesnt go. Not legal otherwise. take off 2 pallets to fix the fuel problem.

P.S. I personally have never had a problem being 12050 or so on the steers, or 34100 anywhere else as long as I was under 80k GVW. Sometimes they will red light you at a scale to let the thing settle, and make you sweat, but usually the green is shortly after.

Too late I’m sure, but next time put about 70 gallons in and rescale. Adjust tandems to get drives legal and go back and have them take some off.

The problem is you’re too low on fuel. Stupid to fuel that often and risk being over because you were already to close. It’s not worth it. Shipper doesn’t care. Driver is responsible. Don’t let the home time push you to do something stupid.

They loaded you near perfect to be under gross, but no room for fuel error

    F that

The fifth wheels got to be moved. The steers are the only place left to go.

Wow, I hope the OP was able to wade through all of the confusing answers and get it done correctly. It was a simple solution really. He had room to add 85 to 100 gallons of fuel and still be legal on the drives. If his trailers tandems were all the way forward when weighed, sliding back 2 notches would have made him legal. On some trailers, one notch would have made him legal. There was no need to slide the 5th wheel..

First, slide your 5th wheel ahead. You can’t even gross 80k the way it is now.

Second, it’s not the shippers problem you came in low on fuel. Roll in full of fuel and haul a pallet less next time.

  11. if you're overweight on your steers and drives you slide The Wheels on the trailer forward to put more weight in the back.
if you're over on your trailer you slide the wheels back to put more weight on the front.
that's your simple rule of thumb it goes the exact opposite of how much you're overweight when sliding tandems to distribute weight.
now if you end up having to slide your fifth wheel that goes in the way it should be if you're very heavy on your trailer and you have to slide your fifth wheel and notch forward you will put more weight onto your drives and vice-versa the other way.
depending on the kind of equipment you pull if you pull a standard Wabash your Hyundai 53-foot dry van or reefer and you have the numerous little holes like about 20 of them usually each hole takes about 260 pounds is what I average..
you got one of those old heavy trailers with the gigantic Kohl's and not a lot when you slide forward and backwards you're looking at about four hundred pounds a whole..
not many run those setups anymore..
looking at your scale ticket if you slide your tandems wheels back three holes you should be fine legal wise unless you're going to be all the way to the back of the trailer then you'll have to worry about the bridge law but that's a whole different story

You need to slide toward the weight, 1 hole for sure probably 2.
