just bought a Reefer trailer with a carrier 2100A unit. Having problems with it getting to -5 degrees. I think the evaporator drain tubes are clogged up causing the evaporator to consonantly ice over. I’ve ran wire in the tubes no luck with that. I opened the front drain hole on the trailer floor and there is lots of ice . I’m guessing the water from defrost is leaking back into trailer. I have a load on it now. What is the best approach to seeing if the tubes are disconnected or clogged from beginning of the evaporator? Thanks

pull the tubes off where they connect to the evaporator box and let it run a defrost cycle. Wear gloves... the refrigerant lines by the battery side drain will be hot.

Also, what year is the box? Were you able to get it below -5 previously?

It’s a 2011, and yeah got it down to -10 before we bought it. I’ll try disconnecting the tubes. I see water on wall draining down inside the engine compartment when it’s defrosting but it’s very little .

Clean the hoses out and make sure there are nipples on the ends. The evaporator will suck warm air up the hoses if there aren't.
The nipples will also prevent mud daubers from building nests in the tubes. -
Hi. We have a thermo king and we believe are having the same issue where water is slowly draining inside the trailer wall on defrost and then leaking down the middle of the unit from the front. Has anyone experienced this with a thermo long. This only happens on defrost.
