Is it a bad omen when you leave town with a load and you only get 5 or 6 miles from town and have to shut down while they pick up a loaded 5 axle tanker that is on its nose and blocking the road.

I think it is, cuz it turned out to be the trip from hell, I didn't break anything, but lots of guys did, and it sounds like many left their trucks and flew back.
I know it ws bad for the driver that lost the tanker, I am sure he is looking for a new job today.

Well I did, but, if I would have had a clue what I wa getting myself into, I would have turned around.
The dispatcher told me he was sure glad to see me back, because they were way behind, what he neglected to tell me was that half of their fleet had broken the last couple of days and were waiting to be fixed. lol
I got a text this morning, a guy I met last night broke down and 3 more in the same pullout were broke, they were less than 20 miles in the rough stuff with a 138 miles to go and a lot of it is 10 times worse than what they have seen so far. lol

    I don't do omens.

What sometimes influences me is my faith, I don't talk about it much because that is a topic for which its strictly individual. Within that faith the spirit is part of trinity and as such within you is a wind of sorts which is what has been written thousands of years before we were alive today.

If I had a sense of that pressure then I would for example go this way down that road instead of the usual Ive learned never to question it. If there is anything to be possible then we will see.

But I don't do Omens. You roll on. If something breaks easy fix If you break, that too can be fixed or buried. (Ha...) what you do not want is to be a vegetable. Unable to be fixed. Binary. On or off. Not in between.

In the past Ive reserved to my boss that if it's blowing ice out there Im staying in my covers.

    WHY NOT?

Well, its not me I worry about it's all the other southerners that need to learn how to drive properly one day a year on that stuff. I druther they not practice on my vehicle or me. hee...

    #### yankee... (Side note, that took about 10 years to drop off...)

Are you referring to the haul road to Prudhoe ( north slope)?

Im thinking of Schneider babies. The orange construction barrels. Right here they hatch full sized Schneider trucks.

    //TEASE....

(Lesson in history, when you saw a pumpkin ahead of you on anything uphill you moved left 2 miles before you passed him.)

Yes, but the tanker laid down just out of town on the start of the elliot, before I got to the Dalton.
The north end above atigun was where the dalton got what a guy should call impassable.
I know of at least 4 trucks that I met on my way back, that went down within 20 miles of getting into the rough stuff, they were all parked in the same pullout. lol
