If you want answers, honest answers based on real world experience, you're in the right place.
If you want us to tell you that what you're doing is guaranteed to work and if you want to totally eliminate all negativity from the information we're sharing...you're definitely in the wrong place.
You'll get good information here. You might not like it, but it might keep you from making some disastrous mistakes.
Take our advice, or don't. Your choice entirely.

Theres been successful people who have done flease purchase but they are too ashamed to get on truckers report and talk about it. Break even for 3 years isn't success to me.

Cost per mile is with any truck no matter Flease purchase or buying from a dealer. If I buy a 2019 KW from a dealer and my cost per mile is .75 then dont you think it's going to be the same thing with Flease purchase with same truck.

So if the company is paying $1.50 per mile and my cost per mile is .75 then I'm putting in my pocket .75

Dont you know that Holland YRC starts drivers out at .65.... I hope you got the lube ready.

I’ve run for both mileage and percentage. In the end I did better on mileage, they keep you moving much better, not much sitting around.
Mileage contracts tend to include all extras, plates, tolls, insurance, etc.
Percentage, you pay for EVERYTHING. Sure there are some sweet heart loads on occasion, but then you’ll sit three days in some strange town. Or have to run back empty from the Arctic as back hauls are nonexistent.
I went over some of my previous gigs, I averaged 20 cpm more on percent take home. But did about 15 percent less miles. So it almost comes out as a wash. Still was away from home the same amount of time.
Years ago I read,it didn’t matter what carrier you worked for, it all seem to work out within 5 cpm, assuming the company can keep you rolling. That’s the bigger issue in my experience.

With all do respect there are ways of doing things politely and with respect to others and I've been doing this long enough to know most drivers are negatively opinionated. However I do give most people the benefit of the doubt.
It's not hard to be rude and disrespectful it is hard to be nice to people though and with that I say I understand where your coming from, and I realize what I'm dealing with, but I have got some positive reinforcementd on here that negate your opinion
    Thanks

Can you afford to go get a truck on your own? That’s the better way to go. At least your name would be on the title and it would be your truck.

Boy do I wish I had enough money, I'm 46 now and it seems no matter what when I save a little
Something terrible happens ,like hurricanes, floods, people die,and I'm always the one having to pay for it or I get sick and out of work for a month, just seems like something happens all to often. I come to realize it's just my life. I hope to change that pattern if I can just get a leg up enough to start a trucking business on my own, then I can make enough to actually save. I feel I am always under paid what ever I'm doing, but such as it is I must always look beyond and try something different.
Hopefully LP will work, and I'm confident I can make it a success

The way i look at is it doesn't matter which it is. If you get mileage and get the $$ and miles to cover your fixed cost and the ones you hope you dont have to pay for than thats good. If you sign on to a company that pays 1.40 and only get 1500 miles, probably not going to make it. It's all in the numbers. You HAVE to know your CPM cost absolutely. Get those nailed down and you'll know roughly what you can work for to make a profit.

I'm not trying to be negative hopefully it doesn't come off wrong. But from the sounds you dont have much financial backing and your hoping these lease purchase deal is going to turn that around? Kind of in hope of a rags to riches story???

Much depends on the company that you are going to be leased on with. When I started where I am at now I was on mileage. Now for the last year they started a load board and percentage. I have to say, the smartest move that I ever made. It all depends on learning the system and working the system. I have to say that I only average about 2200 miles per week, and I bring home more now then I did when I was running 3000 per week, but then again, I know the system. Our load board allows me to look and plan myself up to 2 weeks at a time. Also during the holiday season, I am mostly pulling FedEx from Indy to Detroit and back. About 3 round trips per week, but FedEx pays, so sitting, I really do not care
