    According yo my safety person it was an update that was pushed to all units. It is a qualcom
    Compsny had no choice amd is an fmcsa requirement

    The requirement is 5mph. If yours is tripping with any movement at all then that is how your company has it set up.

    eCFR — Code of Federal Regulations
    Appendix 4.3.1.2
    (3) An ELD's set speed threshold for determination of the in-motion state for the purpose of this section must not be configurable to greater than 5 miles per hour.

    It can be configured to a max if 5MPH. If your company is not, they are lying to you.

    You're allowed to use personal conveyance for a few things these days you can also have a fully loaded trailer while using it.

    I wouldn't call it outright cheating. If you're putt-putting around you're not advancing a load. It is probably a little bit of rule bending. The DOT isn't stupid. They know truckers are doing this. Unless a driver is a complete prick to them they will probably overlook that
