    WOT?

You mean you quit your current company and are going to orientation under PC in the old employers truck?

OMG thats unauthroized use against you once your former company discovers what you have done.

    My answer is no.

When you "QUIT" with words out of your mouth, you at that moment in time is no longer a valid employee of a company. You cannot toucha their truck and trailer etc etc except to do one thing. Back to wherever your former boss orders you to take it and no other place.

When are you quitting and what vehicle are you driving 13 hours away?
If you are driving your personal 4 wheeler, then off duty.

Or are you an o/o going to a different company?
If that's the case then you are being dispatched by the motor carrier (that's you, btw) and have to be on duty or driving as applicable.
Also, make sure you have the correct insurance as the old company might cancel any under them immediately.

O/O going to a different company. I would have already taken all their equipment out, and signage. It would be a clean break. I obviously haven't dont it yet, just looking to see if I could legally do it.

I would think NO because your drive to another company to make money. Why even take the risk and worry about trying to convince D.O.T you think it's PC and them saying it's not. If you got in accident that could be a big mess especially if logging PC because your close to going over HOS. I would not do PC.

Our company is asking us to use paper log if elog malfunctions. I'm guessing you want to move the truck to another company after quitting and elog hardware is removed.
