Well my drive shafts are coming back nice and balanced but the gentleman that did them said the yokes had a lot of play so the Yokes from the transmission and the front rear need to get sent to him to be checked.

Of course I had already installed new seals and new nuts, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

The seal on the rear I'm going to replace because I had to put heat on the nut to get it out. It looks fine but I'm going to replace it anyway.

I was able to get the nut off the transmission with my impact gun, so I'm wondering does that seal need to be replaced? I ran the engine for a few minutes in gear just to make sure I didn't have any leaks or any of that kind of thing, and that's about it.

    Should that seal be replaced?

Need new nuts too. One time use. They have an upgrade 750 lb torque nut for trans. I’ve got one now, need to put it on, along with new straps and bolts for unjoint. Also one use items. I’m hoping new nut will take up some of the tail shaft play. I don’t know if the upgrade but applies to all transmissions or not. When I bought my Truck, the front axle yoke seal was leaking. After a few yrs the nut came loose, almost lost the driveshaft. Had it cranked back on with new nut, and locktite. Coming loose is a common problem. Especially on the trans. A friend had one come loose. We tightened up with a hammer and chisel, till He could get it home. I know you’d rather avoid future problems, thought I’d mention problems I’ve had with all that. Might as well just change yokes out. Now driveline is all brand new.

He checked them out for me right on Friday. He called me back at the end of the day and let me know that the transmission yoke was good in the input yoke on the front front rear was bad, it had a lot of play.

Everything will be back probably on Monday with new nuts seals and the whole shebang.
