    Thats nothing.

IF you did not buy cash or equal for vehcile you are made (Required) to buy full coverage insurance which will run you upwards of 150 a month for a car if you have not had coverage recently.

No sales tax on commercial interstate trucks in Kansas.

Insurance rates (if you're based in Kansas) are much lower than most other States too.

No sales tax here in Tn. with proof of for hire authority.
    No state income tax either.

I bought my truck new, from a dealer in California ... Took possession in Nevada, no sales tax.

The dealers in California have a process in place to do this. You have to prove that you run a majority of your miles outside of California. I only live in California, 90% of my miles are outside the state ... Used my IFTA filings for proof.

You do not have to pay sales tax in CA if you receive out of state. I just bought a truck in TX and registered it here in CA. You have to have your ducks in row, and still have to be willing to argue your point with the manager at whatever DMV you go to to register it. I used Jennifer at Interstate Registration Agency. In Palmdale, CA. To help me with everything I needed. She even told me the DMV would still try to make you pay. And she was right. Finally after arguing with the lady I told her I wanted to speak with the manager, she went back and forth twice, to some back office. The manager never did come out, but they did register it without me paying CA sales tax.
