I peruse the job ads daily.
CL, Indeed, Simply Hired, state site and more.
Always looking to improve my lot in life.
Only one I applied for I declined 5 yrs ago. WallyWorld.
I have a local/regional daycab cryo gig that alot of folks might say it don't get any better, home every night except 4 layovers a month at a motel, paid for and $45 meal.
Been here going on 11 yrs and will retire in 4 more.
I average around 112K and this yr will be closer to 120K. Next year will be a new contract so probably 3K each yr more.
First 17 yrs I worked OTR, started w flatbed and delivered to small town implement dealers and even large farms and enjoyed it.
Spent 7 hauling rock&roll across the continent.
Been union/local since but looking to maybe change it up going into retirement.
Now..this gig I saw is not your ordinary trucking job.
I haven't spoken to them but have sent a email inquiry. I would have to be able to bring the mrs.
Don't know any specifics regarding pay, benefits or if they will be buying or leasing equip, or even if they have a DOT# let alone authority. I know from their FB page they have been using common carriers to deliver. FB page
    Broadway Car Wash Equipment Company
Sounds kinda unique and was wondering what the experienced hands may think of such an opportunity.
Who knows, could lead to something profitable if these folks have no clue as to private carrier transportation.
    The ad..OTR Truck Driver

Sounds like they want a laborer that can drive, Not a driver.

I would stay where you're at. Ride that horse in too the sunset.
    Good luck.

I got over that long ago, it would just be for the change. I could take a cut but I can't go broke for it.

    FlaSwampRat and 70’Nova Thank this.

I worked for one as a detail boy.

Had a manager who was so full of herself. Too much estrogen. A yeller too. Everything bad.

The one time she hollared at me inserting the word boy I advanced on her

Whenever she sent that one company demo car full of toy dog hair, I always had a particular roadway in the hills about a mile straight. Nothing on it. Did my best to burn that thing out internally maxing out every gear.

After a couple of months she started lobbying for a Demo 300Z, Some of you aint never had one of these.. essentially a V6 mounted on wheels from Datsun. Hell on earth when run right. Nannied when bought too late.

Fortunately I had quit. The one purpose of that job was to put together a couple thousand for trucking once I got hired on. I had my full Class A by then.

The whole place imploded. But it would be years before that little princess was out of there lording it over all deals made in their favor. Never the customer.

I talked to a friend w some knowledge of the industry.
He told me they have been around awhile and have a lock on all large dealerships and produce quality products.
He sees them in Vegas at the car wash convention..who knew.
Said he doesn't see them going anywhere unless they take the family business public.
Told me it usually takes 4 to 5 days for an install depending.
